THE ROAM
The Problem:
University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communications students were asked to create a portfolio consisting of class projects and passion projects. Students were lost and in need of direction.
The Solution: Create a club that gives students direction by designing a brief and a platform for students to submit to during the year to add to their portfolios. Before students add to their portfolios, THE ROAM sends their work to guest judges who give them feedback.
The Workload: As the project manager of THE ROAM, I am in charge of scheduling meetings and creating deadlines. I find guest judges, consisting of industry professionals, UO professors and UO alumni, to give the students feedback. I make the judging process as smooth as possible for the guest judges and I send the feedback to the submitters.
